To create objects of superb beauty and function, using time tested tools and techniques. This is the goal of D. Green Woodworks.

Dave Green has worked in the building trades and in fine woodworking since 1985. With a passion for woodcarving and traditional hand tool work, Dave strives for excellence in everything he creates.

In 1985, after gaining much experience with tools and building from working with his father through childhood, Dave went to work framing NYC townhouses at age 18. After achieving an associates degree in agriculture and forestry, he learned welding and metal working and worked in a fabrication shop for 2 years, and then spent 4 years working as a timber framer.

While timber framing, Dave learned the skills required to execute traditional joinery in wood, including layout, machine work and hand tool  work. He also learned to carve pendants and finials, and letter carving, and became enthralled by hand tool work and traditional methods.

Since 1996, after returning to NYC, Dave has restored buildings, created built-in furniture and cabinetry, worked in metal fabrication, studied woodcarving and stone carving, built custom furniture, and worked as helper to fine artists as well as creating his own sculpture and fine art.

D. Green Woodworks strives for the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship.
